Children’s Science Museum

Istanbul, Turkey

This new children’s science center was designed by SKOLNICK to be one of Istanbul’s most high-profile destinations. It comprises over 100,000 square feet of interpretive exhibits, engaging interactives, and immersive experiences and will provide an unparalleled science learning landscape for children of all ages and their families.

SKOLNICK conceived of the visitor experience as a voyage of scientific inquiry and exploration organized along a continuum of discovery from the personal and familiar (the human body) to the cosmic and unknown (the universe and the future). This narrative thread connects five unique “Science Spheres” – MyBody, MyCity, MyPlanet, MyUniverse and MyFuture. Inside each visually distinctive sphere, visitors will find rich immersive environments, engaging hands-on and digital interactives, and dynamic media and graphics to explore a wide range of scientific disciplines. Visitors travel between spheres via connecting bridges whose science content illuminates the relationship between the theme of each sphere and the next. The interpretive experiences in these interstitial spaces emphasize the interconnectedness of the content, reinforcing the idea that everything in our world is linked and related.

This unique science center will open new horizons of science investigation and hands-on learning for children where their curiosity has no bounds and that will inspire their imaginations to soar, sparking passion and excitement about the wondrous world of science.
