SKOLNICK Architecture + Design Partnership spearheaded a team of three firms in envisioning a new public school, Summit Elementary School, for the Natrona County School District in Casper, Wyoming, which opened in August 2010. SKOLNICK led visioning sessions and design charrettes with the Natrona County School District, the Wyoming School Facilities Commission, local educators, students, and community members to create this unique educational facility. The Summit Elementary School building and site, which include non-traditional classrooms with moveable walls, a “village center,” as well as wind turbines and a range of other interactive opportunities, excite and engage students in new ways of learning.
