ABBEY SLINKER
Intermediate Architect

Biography

Abbey is a registered architect in New York and Maine. She enjoys working on complex, multilayered projects that benefit the communities they serve, both functionally and visually and looks forward to the variety of challenges inherent in the design process. She is particularly interested in adaptive reuse, and how we can alter existing buildings to meet today’s standards.

In her role as Intermediate Architect at SKOLNICK, Abbey assists in the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction and/or alteration of buildings. She delivers project documentation and visual representations for various architectural projects, ensuring that the project team’s presentation materials are well suited to the needs of the specific project.

Prior to joining SKOLNICK, she worked for Canal 5 Studio, an architecture firm based in Portland, Maine, where she gained experience working on commercial and institutional projects. She worked as Project Architect on the renovation of an historic building at Bates College where she coordinated with consultants and worked closely with the client/construction manager to deliver a set of construction documents on time and within budget.

She also has a passion for drawing and painting, as well as a keen attention to detail that is evident in the work she creates.
