SKOLNICK led planning, concept design, and architectural design for this new children’s science center in Istanbul comprised of over 100,000 sf of interpretive exhibits, engaging interactives, and immersive experiences. Five unique “Science Spheres” – MyBody, MyCity, MyPlanet, MyUniverse and MyFuture – transport visitors on a voyage of scientific inquiry and exploration from the personal and familiar (the human body) to the cosmic and unknown (the universe and the future).

SCIENCE SPHERES

Inside each distinctive sphere, rich immersive environments, engaging hands-on and digital interactives, and dynamic media and graphics await discovery. Visitors travel between spheres via connecting bridges whose science content illuminates the relationships between the five thematic spheres.

This unique science center was designed to open new horizons of science investigation and hands-on learning for children. The environments and experiences inspire young imaginations to soar, sparking passion and excitement about the wondrous world of science and demonstrating that curiosity has no bounds.
