JACK, LARGER THAN LIFE

THE LONGHOUSE RESERVE
East Hampton, NY

The exhibition, “Jack, Larger than Life” celebrates the iconic textile designer, Jack Lenor Larsen. SKOLNICK was delighted to collaborate with LongHouse Reserve on the exhibit design for this intimate exhibit. Visitors are welcomed into the material world of Jack and invited to explore his innovative textiles alongside art, furniture, garments, gifts, and objects he collected over the course of his life.

COLOR STORIES

The exhibit weaves together Jack’s creations and collections as a series of vignettes, each reflective of the color stories that Jack gravitated towards in his designs.

LAYERED TEXTILES

The exhibit showcases nearly fifty Larsen textiles including a colorful array of printed cotton velvets and iconic commissions such as Leverlin for Lever House, Swazi Drapery for the Wolf Trap Theater, and Magnum for the Phoenix Opera House.
