MIAMI CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

Miami, FL

After successfully designing the original exhibit galleries and interior spaces for the Miami Children’s Museum in 2003, SKOLNICK was invited back 10 years later to refresh and update 18,000 sf of exhibit spaces. SKOLNICK guided the museum through the development of a new Interpretive Master Plan and provided exhibit design services for new program opportunities in 14 exhibit galleries.

COLLABORATION AND CONVERSATION

The new exhibits are informed by the Reggio-Emilia approach and incorporate STE(A)M based experiences that foster group interaction and open-ended creative problem-solving. Additional exhibit areas were designed specifically to engage toddlers and their caregivers through play and conversation.

EXPLORE AND TINKER

The exhibits cover a world of topics including health and wellness, art and music, physical science, and nature. Immersive environments, hands-on interactives, multimedia, and imaginative play encourage children to explore, tinker, and express themselves.

SKOLNICK demonstrated its creativity, professionalism, and willingness to make things possible at every juncture of our project. The staff was responsible, responsive, and amiable.
