Autobiography of a Skyscraper: Featuring Lee H. Skolnick in conversation with the book’s author, Francis Greenburger

SKOLNICK Architecture is proud to highlight an upcoming event, a celebration of the publishing of a new book, Autobiography of a Skyscraper, by the real estate developer and art collector Francis Greenburger, featuring Lee H. Skolnick, Founding Principal of SKOLNICK Architecture.

Centered on the newly released book Autobiography of a Skyscraper by Francis Greenburger and Rebecca Paley, the speakers will explore the complex, human story behind the creation of a major urban tower. Through a behind-the-scenes lens, the book reveals the vast network of individuals; architects, engineers, builders, and visionaries whose collaboration transforms an idea into an iconic structure.

Lee H. Skolnick’s participation in this conversation underscores a central tenet of SKOLNICK Architecture’s practice: that architecture is fundamentally about people and storytelling. Throughout his career, Lee has advanced an interdisciplinary approach that blends design, narrative, and human experience, an ethos that aligns seamlessly with the themes of the book.  Along with the eloquent and moving narrative that Francis Greenburger shares in his book, Lee brings his perspective on the cultural and collaborative dimensions of architecture, reinforcing the idea that buildings are not merely physical objects, but layered stories shaped by those who conceive, create, and inhabit them.

We invite you to join this special event and hear directly from Francis and Lee as they discuss the making of a skyscraper and the broader forces that shape our built environment.
