Biography
As Senior Architect with SKOLNICK, Savvas Sarafidis leads design teams in analysis, planning, and programming for significant architectural projects. He is accountable for developing overall project plans and specific designs in response to owner needs, manages budget and schedule during planning and design phases, and develops creative and innovative design solutions with technical integrity.
His expertise is in residential and commercial design, construction administration and management, design analysis and development, construction documentation, material specification, and on-site construction supervision. He is experienced in high-end projects, specializing in envelope design and forensics.
Savvas provides innovative solutions to complex and novel situations. He adopts a strategic approach to align organizational goals and timelines with optimized budgets. He loves to mentor new talent, and champions the establishment of high-performing agile cultures.
Savvas is an architect with a broad interest in planning and environmental issues. In 2003, he founded ss.mm design and as lead architect of the firm in Athens, he specialized in the design and construction management of private residences and apartment and mixed-use buildings of varying sizes and budgets. His projects reflected the identity and cultural character of the client and the local environment, while maintaining energy efficiency and keeping with construction costs. His personal academic work and his ss.mm work have been published in various Greek and international print and digital media and have been presented at festivals and exhibitions. He has been invited as a guest critic and guest lecturer at various academic institutions in Greece and abroad.
Savvas applies both traditional and cutting-edge 3D modeling and BIM techniques to the architectural design process. He is very passionate about planning strategies, the use of space, and design presentations. Savvas is a professional deeply committed to the highest standards of ethics and personal excellence.
