THE CENTER OF HOPE

Jerusalem, Israel

The Elijah Interfaith Institute approached SKOLNICK to develop an interpretive master plan, architectural concept, and promotional materials for The Center of Hope. The Center is envisioned as a space of learning, a framework for meeting, an opportunity for friendship, a site for inspiration, a presentation of enlightenment, and a place where prayer for peace can rise together from the faithful of all faiths and all peoples, in Jerusalem.

A JOURNEY OF PEACE

The new facility will include spaces for lectures and conferences; an auditorium for public events and concerts; an exhibition hall for interreligious art exhibits; meeting spaces for scholars’ seminars, think tanks, and interreligious activity that takes place in and around the Holy Land; a museological display featuring the life of prayer in world religions; and inspiring prayer spaces where people of all faiths can pray alongside one another.

RAISING AWARENESS

In addition to providing visioning and architectural design services for this unique project, SKOLNICK also designed a booklet that has allowed the Elijah Interfaith Institute to help spread awareness about their vision and to assist them in raising funds for the creation of the Center.

Jerusalem, holy to Islam, has been a pilgrim’s destination for Muslims for hundreds of years. The vision of creating a center holy to all religions allows every pilgrimage to open up to an interreligious experience. This is what today’s world needs.
